 Water and food Security

We are committed to re-opening and maintaining wells in Lira to support whole communities and specifically the woman and children who are often tasked with walking many miles in unsafe conditions to collect water. Well water is used for crops and livestock as well as for human consumption.

                                                                          RHI is focused on ensuring there are local, clean water sources which are maintained. Many of the wells we repair were first installed by other well meaning non-profits but, unfortunately not maintained. As a result the average well fails within two years. RHI is re-opening these wells and ensuring their maintenance for water security.
